Eat more veggies, exercise more,...perhaps get rid of my pre-diabetes

I'm trying to be healthier, lose weight and only spend $10/week on groceries. I have actually done that once before but those were the good old days when for one, things were cheaper and another, I was vegan and connected with some good cheap organic produce sources and had a physically demanding job so was in pretty darn good shape. Anyway, so those are my goals: eat more veggies & fruit, exercise more...and maybe one day weigh 125 lbs again. Oh who am I kidding? My goals are to find the secret to eternal youth and perfect skin, to fit into size 2 (I'd say size o but boyf likes some booty), complete a triathlon, and at the next event I have to attend have someone compliment me on the tone in my arms and also on how I raised so much money for starving African children.

Sidenote: I am an African children, but fortunately not starving, just poor and trying to live off $10/week.

I had oatmeal this morning. In fact I should probably have named this blog, "InstantOats". I'm a two pack a day kinda girl. The strawberries n creme being my first love, but mostly now I eat whatever-flavours-are-in-the-box-on-sale mixed with some plain quick oats.

About 2 hrs later, seeing as I only got around to breakfast at 10 am, I ate half a mediterranean wrap, some spinach chips, fat free cottage cheese and a toffuti cutie. Boyff brought the food to share with me over his lunch. I love how sharing he is. Why with the dairy cheese and non dairy ice-cream? Multiple food personality disorder. I'm a ex-but-still-wannabee vegan buffalo wing lover.

I don't think I've ever had fatfree cottage cheese before. It's been ages since I've had cottage cheese, which I really like although it's not top of my cheese (oh cheese mmmmmmmm) list, but I DO remember it tasting a whole darn lot better than this stuff did. Although, for only 90 calories per 1/2 cup it could have been worse. I mixed in some seasonings from home and it wasn't bad. I do however get a little suspicious of food that's been so heavily processed (doesn't stop me though) and usually my argument is "rather the full fat that I know vs the chemical alteration that I don't"....but people with a BMI of 26ish have to make some changes in their thinking.

Money spent on food so far today: Um, the quick oats was about $4/12 packets which is um, 30 some cents plus soy milk (silk)$3.20 for 1.5L of which I had about 40 cents worth, plus free lunch (well, I have to be a decent companion to him, which can cost a lot sometimes...and sometimes is the best thing in the world...but I'll try not to gush), so......like 70 cents. Score.

Healthy things: did get heart rate up by skipping this morning. Will try to do another minute or two later in the day.
Did eat oats. yay.
Plus sugar and whatever weird chemicals they add to it. sigh.
Did eat low fat cheese, and the wrap had fresh veggies. yay.
Two glasses of water. So far.

Will now play sudoku to exercise brain.
